Obituary of Grace Schirripa
Grace Schirripa (nee DeLucia), aged 98, of Ridgefield Park, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Monday, January 6, 2025. Born in Brooklyn, New York to the late Lucy (nee Tafaro) and the late Marco DeLucia, Grace led a full and vibrant life, leaving behind a legacy of love, dedication, and cherished memories.
Grace was the beloved wife of the late Rocco Schirripa, devoted mother to Roxanne Calabrese and her husband Joe and Joseph Schirripa and his wife Margaret, proud grandmother to Diane, Kathryn, Karin, and Kristen, and doting great grandmother to Christopher, Megan, Cole, Anthony, Shane, Jesse, and Charlie, and also survived by many dear nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her siblings Margaret Gregorio, Antoinette Congilose, Nicholas DeLucia, Theresa LoSacco, Josephine Bush, and Rose Panzino. Family was the cornerstone of her life, and she was delighted in spending time with her loved ones and playing with her precious grand babies. A talented and passionate cook, Grace owned and operated J&G Catering in North Bergen for many years, sharing her love for cooking and baking for her community before her retirement. Beyond the kitchen, she enjoyed reading, fostering a lifelong love of learning and imagination. Grace was an active member of the Ridgefield Park Seniors where you could find her playing her hand at cards among friends. She was a faithful parishioner of St. Francis Church, where her warmth and Kindness touched the lives of many. Her memory will forever live in the hearts of her family and friends.
A Visitation in Grace’s honor will be held on Thursday, January 9th, beginning at 4 PM and concluding at 8 PM. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, January 10th, 9:30 AM at St. Francis R.C. Church. Grace will be laid to rest at Madonna Mausoleum, Fort Lee.
